This Mississippi fishing guide shares his inshore fishing journey.
Captain Sonny's fishing career didn't begin in Louisiana's inshore waters, instead it began as a deckhand on an offshore fishing charter in Venice, Louisiana.
There he learned from the best, but eventually became homesick and moved back to Mississippi, where he started Shore Thing Charters, and inshore fishing charter based near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
The transition from offshore fishing to inshore was a little tough, but with help and basic fishing principles learned offshore, he was able to make it happen.
Today they run eight boats and have a camp on Cat Island.
Sonny's best advice is "Don't fish for yourself." Fish for the people around you, take a kid fishing.
