It was the first clear day after all the tropical storms we've had, so it was time to launch the boat and locate speckled trout.

What Happened

It was the first time the wind was predicted to lay down since the onslaught of storm surge from 2020's slew of tropical storms and hurricanes, so we had to launch the boat and see what was out there.

We started out fishing the bridges of Lake Pontchartrain, especially the Trestles.

It was just a logical decision given the strong incoming tide that was predicted (and seen on the water that morning).

The video you see above is part one of this fishing trip, where we ended up jigging a good stretch of the Trestles.

You can watch Parts Two and Three on my YouTube channel.

We did catch a limit of speckled trout as well as one redfish and one flounder.

There was a lot of catching going on, from jigging Matrix Shad, to twitching Mirrodines, throwing double rigs and tossing popping corks!

So, it made for a lot of video to watch and that is why this fishing trip is broken into several parts.

Exact Fishing Location

The secret to successful fishing is not specific fishing spots but rather selecting where to fish based upon the conditions.

This is an in-depth topic that can't be covered in a few paragraphs of text and that's the reason why I have two videos accompanying the YouTube video you watched above.

They are the Planning Video and Post Trip Review. They can be accessed via the button below, but are only accessible to members of LAFB Elite, since it is that membership that makes all of this possible in the first place.

The planning video details where I decided to fish based upon the conditions, and the Post Trip Review displays my boat's GPS tracks, revealing routes and exact fishing locations.

These tracks are made available to members of LAFB Elite for uploading to their own GPS.

We also look at the conditions that actually happened versus what was predicted.

This is a great learning tool and the fastest way you can learn to catch great boxes of fish 100% on your own.
